TheGigRig QuarterMaster

Simple loop switching for your pedals

High-quality true bypass strip loop control for your effects pedals. Compact easy switching solution to keep your tone intact.

TheGigRig QMX has all the same great features as the standard QuarterMaster including;

1. Uses TheGigRig 'True Bypass' relay technology keeping your tone perfectly intact and your switching quiet.
2. Tough aluminium enclosure and small footprint will keep your pedalboard light and compact
3. Uses the new GigRig 'OptoKick' Optical Foot switch which we believe is the most reliable foot switch in the world.

PLUS, the QMX has a very clever ace up its sleeve.

Each loop has a push button next to the loop return that gives you the option to turn a standard loop into a flip/flop loop.
Instantly switch between any selected loops while adding other loops on top. Its great if there are effects on your board that you never stack like multiple delays, or drive units.
By using the QMX returns as instrument inputs you can easily and quietly switch between your favourite guitars

For your simple compact board, TheGigRig QuarterMaster QMX just makes life that little bit easier.

Bought for convenience but is so much more

Posted by Simon DIckenson on 6th Feb 2023

I had been debating whether to try a switcher or not for some time but having moved to some fairly large pedals I was struggling with full on tap dancing. The QMX8 being the obvious solution, I was pleasantly surprised that it wasn't super expensive. Straight out of the box, this feels like a quality piece of kit. All the switches feel lovely, and the quality of construction is excellent. After a wee while setting the pedal in their loops, which was much easier than expected, I was ready to go. Convenience was achieved - so much easier to switch pedals on and off and if need to use the flip/flop mode, I love that the LED is red making it so clear which are in that mode. I did make one error in putting a wah above one of the switches. They are extremely light touch and my heel kept brushing the switch activating the delay by mistake. A quick move around solved that. With the convenience resolved it was time to play a couple of gigs. One with a Victory VX Kraken and one with a Marshall Silver Jubilee Studio. I am in love with my pedals again! I had heard people say that moving to switching brought their rig to life, but I was skeptical. The jump in quality is outstanding. I have a Klon KTR which I liked but now sounds like the best drive pedal ever. Chorus is production quality, Vibe is huge, I have had to dial back the depth of the harmonic trem as it took over the whole signal and the Bi-Phase is other worldly. Even the delay just sits better in the front now. I guess the point is, the hype is real. Having your pedals in the loops really does massively lift your signal. I used more effects with the Silver Jubilee and I felt so self indulgent - it felt like I was playing the gig for me because I was enjoying my tone so much. Sorry to bang on so much but the quality of my tone has been lifted so much that suddenly the price of the switcher felt almost too cheap. If you are thinking of buying a new pedal: don't. Buy a QMX and enjoy the renewed quality of your old pedals. Thanks GigRig. This was so worth the money!!

    Great Improvement To My Board

Posted by Paul Kirtley on 13th Jan 2022

The Quartermaster is an excellent product. It is well designed and very well made. The functinonality is simple and straightforward, with the unit providing an essential upgrade to a board with multiple pedals. The most significant improvement this unit made to my board was a reduction in noise, compared to running the signal through every pedai in succession, even if not in use. Putting the pedals into the loops of the Quartermaster made an instantaneous reduction in noise and an increase in signal preservation. One reason I bought the unit was I was disappointed at how much texture and detail was being lost by sending the signal from my guitar through a bunch of pedals before the front of the amp, compared to just plugging into the amp directly. This was an especially acute difference when playing clearn or with light boost/overdrive. By removing unnecessary pedals from the signal path, the resultant sound is much improved. Adding this unit also helped me better organise my board, both in terms of the pedal placement as well as the wiring. You will need more patch cables though (two per pedal as opposed to three per two pedals) and make sure you have a powersupply on your board with sufficient power to power the Quartermaster. Finally, the thing is built really well. It is a joy to use and will last a long time. This was money very, very well spent. Thank you Dan and team! Cheers.

    QMX - 8

Purchased mainly to make life easier flipping between various drives & Compression...which it does effortlessly, but the added bonus of getting my amps sound back was a welcome surprise....the original tone had deteriorated far more than I thought with 9 pedals in series....a welcome back to my low end and high end that had disappeared over the past few years. Great job Gigrig.....many thanks !

    Nice piece of equipment

Posted by Stian Green on 18th Mar 2021

Needed to do less ballett on my pedalboard and clean up my pedal chain. Love the simplicity and sturdiness. Can´t wait for covid to be over so I can bring it to a gig.

    Great equipment

This is my first The GigRig purchase. I'm returning to playing guitar after many years not even owning an instrument. I'm starting again from scratch to build up my pedals. I can't be more impressed with the build quality and it does exactly what I wanted..... 10/10

Just awesome. A really good quality product. I fail to see how any other non programmable switcher could be any better. Works, looks and feels great! I'm doing more tap dancing though as I enjoy using it
