Great modular power solution, a bit more messy than the usual

    Posted by J-F on 19th Jun 2020

Overall a great power solution. It does require the user to manually make some connections, which leaves more room for potential mistakes (I had to work through some bad connnections). But since there is no soldering nor wire stripping, you need not be afraid of getting into the weeds. Ultimately, the main advantage of the system is its modularity, meaning you can always add onto it when you get new or more pedals, and you don't have to get a completely different power source when you realize your current solution does not do 15V center positive for example. The one downside for me does come from the modular aspect as well, On my relatively small board, I have the generator, distributor, 3 isolators and 2 high current adapters. That makes for a very cluttered mess underneath the board, and cable management is a challenge. Worth the hassle in my opinion but still worth mentioning

    Power Base Pack 1

Posted by Andrew Goldthorpe on 10th May 2020

I bought this kit with an isolator to power my new pedal board. I was previously using a Boss BCB-60, as I don't have load of pedals, but wanted a convenient set up for gigs.
I cannot believe how different my set up sounds using this power supply!!!!! (and the Evidence audio cables)
I was expecting it to be quieter (the BCB-60 was noisy in certain situations), but I didn't expect the clarity of my tone and the quality of the effects to be considerably better.
This was an expensive option for me, but I have to say it was worth every penny, and its an investment into my board, which I can now adapt to suit and future uses.
    Very very impressed.

    Effective and fairly straightforward

Just got a base kit 1, installed it and now decided it’s worth adding a second isolator. Hooking everything up was easy except for a problem with some isolator connections - if you don’t get the bare wire ends *right* in as far as they should go (clearing the top of the metal tines inside the terminal block) it will feel like you successfully clamped the wire in when you press the terminal down but you’ll not have an electrical contact.

    Base pack 1

Comes with a generator and distributor which is non isolated so you need extra isolators or power packs for pedals, has massive potential being modular so you can get bits as your gear grows so although the initial costs are higher than a PP2 you have more power and scope for more pedals so no more ground noises or cable doublers etc, seems totally silent on my board and my pedals all seem to have way more headroom than before, great product can definitely recommend.

I initially thought this was going to be a bit fiddly but with a pair of scissors and a sharp knife it was doodle to get all my pedals hooked up.

All seems to be working fine and with the current on tap it should last a lot longer than my iso brick.

Probably should have just bought this when I installed the Quartermaster loop switcher.

Quality as expected from Dan and the team.
